The main causes of hair loss
Androgenic alopecia
In the scalp of male patients with androgenic alopecia (commonly known as “seborrheic alopecia”), an ongoing “hair follicle miniaturization” war is taking place. Testosterone secreted by the testicles is converted into highly destructive dihydrotestosterone (DHT) under the action of 5α-reductase. The forehead and top hair follicles carrying androgen receptors are like marked targets.
